NEW SERVICE: Online Memorial Ceremonies - a new way to come together and honour the life of your loved-one
I have been desperately worried about the possibility of families being denied the opportunity to say a proper farewell to their loved-one in recent days. I have listened carefully to those who have called for funeral services to stop, and I understand the thinking behind that call.
However, since the beginning of March, I have had the huge privilege of offering services, with restrictions on attendance in place, to families who have overwhelmingly commented that having something is better than the prospect of having nothing.
And so, I've been exploring online ceremonies that can be live streamed privately to family and friends - ceremonies that can be personalised and special, giving you the opportunity to say farewell to your loved one in a safe and dignified manner. This can also include music, photographs, readings, poetry and eulogy in the usual way but not in the context of a crematorium or chapel.
I have received a couple of requests from families and will be updating you on any feedback I receive from them in due course, but having rehearsed a ceremony that is due to be webcast to a family very soon, I have to say, I'm very pleased with the quality of presentation.
